Chiara Tomasi

Chiara is an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Trento, Italy, where she is part of the research group Empirical Microeconomics Laboratory (EMiL). She is also an external member of the Laboratory of Economics and Management (LEM) at Scuola Superiore S.Anna (Pisa). In the past, she was a visiting scholar at the Paris School of Economics, at the Centre d’Economie de la Sorbonne and at the Bank of France.

She holds a PhD in Economics and Management from the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies, Pisa, and her research focuses on applied microeconomics and industrial organization with a strong focus on the relationship between international trade and firm performance. Her current research addresses the issue of firms’ international competitiveness by looking at the broad factors constraining or enhancing companies’ foreign operations, like growth in size and productivity; access to financial markets and innovation; product and geographic diversification; workforce composition.
