Research Network
The IGL Research Network is an open community of researchers dedicated to advancing knowledge on science, innovation, and productivity through experimental research. Our mission is to lower the barriers to experimental research by creating opportunities and supporting the development of all researchers interested in experimental research in this field, broadening access to those from diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds.
Supported by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the IGL Research Network provides a range of activities designed to foster research and collaboration. These include funding opportunities, research conferences, and support to forge valuable connections. Below, you’ll find an overview of some of our current activities.

Seed Grants
Seed Grants support researchers in developing and piloting innovative experimental research ideas and gather valuable feedback on trial designs before officially launching their studies. Call of applications launch in autumn.

CFXS Annual Conference
Each year, we co-host the Conference on Field Experiments in Strategy (CFXS), bringing together researchers to share the latest insights from cutting-edge experiments. CFXS, led by professors Hyunjin Kim, Rembrand Koning and Sharique Hasan, offers a valuable platform for presenting completed papers and early-stage RCT designs and receiving feedback before field implementation.

Masterclass series
In collaboration with the Conference on Field Experiments in Strategy (CFXS), this masterclass series is designed to provide insights into how to design field experiments in science, innovation and productivity. Delivered by leading academics in the field, this online course is tailored for researchers seeking practical guidance and behind-the-scenes perspectives on designing and conducting field experiments.

Webinar series
We host bi-monthly webinars to provide researchers with feedback on their field experiments and trial designs before they launch. Each webinar features one paper with trial results, one trial design that has not yet been implemented, a discussant who will analyse both trials and an audience Q&A.

Annual prizes
Annual Prizes recognize and celebrate outstanding experimental research that has made significant contributions to the field. Each year three studies are selected based on their impact and influence.

Mentorship Programme
The Mentorship Programme supports young researchers by connecting them with senior researchers in similar fields. It offers a chance to learn from experienced professionals while allowing mentors to guide emerging talent. Interested in participating? Email us to sign up.

PhD Community
The IGL PhD community brings together early-career researchers looking to enhance their skills in experimental research and get feedback from both their peers and senior scholars. We host monthly workshops on a variety of different topics, inviting PhD students to present their work.

Trial design peer review learning initiative
This initiative allows network members to submit trial designs and receive structured feedback from other network members before implementation. It offers researchers an opportunity to both receive valuable insights and contribute by reviewing others’ work.
