Marek Giebel is an applied economist and an assistant professor of economics at Copenhagen Business School. His research interests include industrial organization, law and economics, and finance. More specifically, he studies the economics of intellectual property rights, the relationship between finance and innovation behavior, firm behavior, and the impact of new technologies on labor markets. His current research focuses on the design of intellectual property rights systems, the economic effects of intellectual property rights protection, and the economic impact of artificial intelligence. This includes, among other things, impacts on innovation behavior, investor reactions, effects on workers, and overall welfare.
