Niloofar Abolfathi

Niloofar Abolfathi holds a Ph.D. from Bocconi University and is an Assistant Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at Singapore Management University. Her research sits at the intersection of competitive and entrepreneurial strategy, with a focus on demand-side perspective. She combines large-scale quantitative datasets with field experiments to examine how ventures compete, enter markets, and grow. Her work has appeared in Strategic Management Journal, Management Science, and MIT Sloan Management Review, and has been recognized internationally, including the Glueck Best Paper Award at the Academy of Management Annual Conference. Beyond academia, she mentors startups worldwide and has led large-scale randomized controlled trials with more than 230 early-stage entrepreneurs in Singapore. She also recently co-organized pitch competitions that attracted nearly 500 startup submissions from across Asia.
