Innovation Data and Policy Network

The Innovation Data and Policy (IDaP) Network by IGL and Nesta is a community of researchers, developers, analysts and leaders who are producing or using insights from data, data science, and AI within science, innovation, business and entrepreneurship policy. It will be a venue for sharing knowledge, developing ideas and discussing common challenges, initially centred around monthly presentation and discussion sessions.

Government agencies and third sector organisations are using data in increasingly innovative ways to support activities and decision making in these policy domains, often using the same data, working on related problems. From our recent work holding Innovation Data Dialogues, we know how valuable these kinds of spaces can be for spreading good ideas and best practice within this community.

How will it work?

The network will meet once a month. One member will present a project or initiative they have been developing, which will be followed by discussion. We will focus on covering:

Who is this for?

The network is primarily for people who work in applied settings, producing and using data driven insights for operations, policy and strategic decision making. We welcome both technical and non-technical participants.

Can I invite others?

Yes. If you have colleagues in your team who you think will be particularly interested, please extend this invitation to them.

We are trying to keep the group fairly focused at this point, to encourage productive conversation and problem solving. We are currently welcoming participants via invitation or application. If there is someone from another organisation that you think should be in the group, then please direct them to the network application form.
